Benjamin Johnson and Matthew Murphy Promoted to Shareholder at Nilan Johnson Lewis

MINNEAPOLIS (January 1, 2018) – Minneapolis-based law firm Nilan Johnson Lewis has promoted product liability and business litigation lawyers Benjamin Johnson and Matthew Murphy to shareholder, effective Jan. 1, 2018.

Johnson has established a reputation as a go-to litigator for corporate clients involved in products liability and commercial cases. He has a wealth of experience in a variety of industries and practice areas, including defending manufacturers and sellers of consumer and industrial products in wrongful death, personal injury, property damage, and fire and explosion cases, as well as representing and counseling companies in matters ranging from contract disputes to complex business litigation.

Murphy has a strong practice defending and advising corporate clients on business and products liability matters. He litigates disputes involving copyrights and trademarks, noncompetes, franchise agreements, partnership issues, and other complex commercial cases. On the products side, Murphy routinely represents industrial and consumer product manufacturers in wrongful death, personal injury, property damage, warranty, and consumer fraud cases; and he advises manufacturers on product recalls and their obligations under the Consumer Product Safety Act. He also represents ski areas against personal injury claims and railroads in FELA cases.
