Nilan Johnson Lewis Attorneys Create Checklist of Social Media Strategies for Outside Counsel

According to the International Telecommunication Union, there are now more than 1 billion users of social media worldwide. As social media continues to evolve, it remains a powerful tool for strengthening corporate identities and reducing litigation risk. But along with the benefits of strategically using social media come new risks that counsel must help their clients navigate.

Nilan Johnson Lewis’s Christy Mennen recognizes the value of using social media to protect her corporate clients, as well as the pitfalls. She outlined “A Social Media Checklist for Your Outside Counsel” in the Summer 2012 issue of In-House Defense Quarterly, which offers tips and best practices ranging from employment policies and hiring practices, to investigating opposing parties and jurors and developing strong trial strategies.
