Nilan Johnson Lewis Welcomes Attorney Matthias Niska
Niska brings extensive experience and passion to the firm’s labor and employment practice group
MINNEAPOLIS (December 31, 2015) – Minneapolis-based law firm Nilan Johnson Lewis welcomes Matthias Niska to its labor and employment practice group as an associate attorney. Niska will assist clients in litigation and advising on various labor and employment issues, including disability advice and defense.
Prior to joining Nilan Johnson Lewis, Niska gained experience with labor and employment and other litigation matters at a law firm in Baltimore. He also served as a director for the University of Minnesota Law School’s National Moot court program and as a student attorney for the law school’s Criminal Defense Appeals Clinic. Additionally, Niska was a judicial extern for the Honorable Tanya M. Bransford at the Hennepin County District Court and served as a law clerk in the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Minnesota.

Niska authored three narratives and more than 100 articles as a part of his freelance writing career before attending law school at the University of Minnesota. Upon graduation, Matthias was elected to the Order of the Coif and was one of two members of his law school class to receive the 2012 American Law Institute-American Bar Association Scholarship & Leadership Award. He was also the recipient of the Kenneth Jernigan Scholarship in 2009, the largest scholarship awarded by the National Federation of the Blind.
