For employers, there is little guidance on using emerging artificial intelligence (AI) tools in employment decisions. Thanks to The Artificial Intelligence Technical Advisory Committee (AI TAC)—which included NJL employment attorney Mark Girouard—employers now have guidance on addressing EEO and DE&I considerations in the use of AI tools in the employment sphere.
Mark was one of 40 subject matter experts on the committee, which included data scientists, industrial organization psychologists, employment attorneys, and current and former EEO government agency officials. In its report, the committee identifies best practices for the use of AI in employment decisions and provides recommendations for integrating AI in employment decisions while ensuring EEO and DE&I.
