John Medeiros and Stephen Warch Named to Inaugural Minnesota Legal 250
Nilan Johnson Lewis is pleased to announce that shareholders John Medeiros and Stephen Warch have been named to Minnesota Lawyer’s inaugural Minnesota Legal 250, a new recognition program honoring the most influential attorneys across the state.
The Minnesota Legal 250 spotlights leaders shaping Minnesota’s legal profession across 16 practice categories. Honorees are selected by Minnesota Lawyer’s editorial team based on sustained success, the ability to navigate evolving client needs and legal developments, and meaningful community engagement.
Medeiros, who heads the firm’s Corporate Immigration practice, was recognized in the Immigration Law category. He represents companies of all sizes — from Fortune 500s to early-stage startups — across industries including healthcare, engineering, information technology, and manufacturing, guiding them through the full range of employment-based immigration matters. A sought-after educator and advocate, Medeiros has served as Adjunct Professor of Immigration Law at Mitchell Hamline School of Law and as Chair of the Minnesota/Dakotas Chapter of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA). He was honored as a 2025 AILA Pro Bono Champion as part of his work with the Faith-Based Working Group of the local AILA chapter.
Warch was recognized in the Health Care Attorneys category. With more than 30 years of experience in health care and insurance regulation — including senior roles with a Fortune 10 managed care organization and as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Minnesota — he brings a depth of perspective that few can match. He counsels insurers, providers, third-party administrators, and other health care organizations through complex regulatory landscapes and serves as outside general counsel for several managed care and compliance-focused entities.
