Nilan Johnson Lewis at No. 8 on Law360’s Glass Ceiling Report

Nilan Johnson Lewis (NJL) is proud to announce that it has again been recognized in Law 360’s Glass Ceiling Report: Women in the Law, an annual report that evaluates the representation of female attorneys across the legal industry. NJL placed No. 8 among all U.S. law firms employing 100 or fewer attorneys, placing NJL among an elite group of only 7.9% of the firms that exceeded Law360’s benchmarks.

NJL is one of the largest certified women-owned law firms in the country, as certified by WBENC (Women’s Business Enterprise National Council). This is in addition to having women in our President and CEO roles, as well as women being the majority of NJL’s Board of Directors. In 2021, the year covered in the Glass Ceiling Report, 34.4% of NJL’s shareholders were female (far above the national average of 25% per the report) and together owned the majority of the shares at NJL. The firm is proud that our rankings exemplify NJL’s women-owned vision.

This is the fifth time NJL has been recognized in Law360’s report for female representation. The firm is also the only legal services provider to win the Minnesota Women Lawyers Leadership Award three times. The award recognizes those firms that work to enhance the status, influence, and effectiveness of female attorneys.
