NJL People: Hannah M. Oliason

Hannah works with hospitals, health systems, ancillary providers, and managed care organizations, assisting them through the maze of organizational and regulatory complexities that define the health care field.

Hannah has deep experience advising health plans on compliance with state and federal law governing marketing and member communications, non-discrimination requirements, rewards and incentives, government programs, and more. Hannah also enjoys complex health care transactions such as negotiating clinical trial agreements between major health systems and pharmaceutical sponsors. In addition, Hannah counsels health care entities on compliance with state and federal fraud, waste, and abuse laws and reporting requirements. She also represents licensed health care entities in state and federal investigations and responding to adverse findings.

Previously, Hannah worked in the office of a United States Congress member and was a law clerk for a private civil litigation firm. She also interned for a large health insurance nonprofit, where she supported product development, regulatory compliance, and contract review for multi-state health plans. Hannah’s interest in health care and medical innovation motivated her studies at University of Minnesota Law School where she completed the Health Law & Bioethics concentration and provided research assistance to a renowned health law professor and bioethicist. In addition, Hannah is an avid writer and has been published by Minnesota Law Review and Minnesota Women Lawyers.

When she is not in the office, Hannah enjoys cheering on the Minnesota Timberwolves and spending time with her family in the Pacific Northwest.
