
Currently retired, Elizabeth Thompson practiced immigration law for more than 35 years. She was considered a leading practitioner in issues related to employment-based immigration with a focus on managing immigration for large multi-national corporate clients. She was the first Chairperson of the American Immigration Lawyers Association’s (AILA) U.S.-Canada Free Trade Agreement Committee, where she drafted regulatory language to implement immigration-related provisions of the trade agreement, and remained a national expert in the area of the North America Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA). She was also a former member of the AILA’s Board of Governors and former Senior Editor of AILA’s Annual Immigration & Nationality Law Handbook, an annual publication featuring the best writings in the field of immigration law. She was listed as a Minnesota Law & Politics Super Lawyers for corporate immigration, and recognized by Corporate Immigration Law Who’s Who, and Corporate International Magazine.
